The ISL6314CRZ-T is an integrated system register for core voltage regulation which is used as a special purpose voltage regulator in applications ranging from mobile processors to high speed Ethernet FPGAs. The ISL6314CRZ-T delivers improved dynamic response, accuracy and system power efficiency over previous generations of core voltage regulators. It offers voltage control to support both synchronized and variable processor cores, as well as variable and linear response architecture. The integrated COREVREG provides a programmable voltage set-point, automatic voltage-scaling capabilities, and a built-in temperature throttling mechanism.
The ISL6314CRZ-T is designed to reduce the need for manual adjustments when tuning the voltage regulator settings. It features a knob in the power control unit designed to adjust core voltage. This allows the systems designer to select one of the various core voltages preset by the vendor and consequently modify the core voltage to quickly reach the desired settings without system reboots and avoid potential system instability.
