Introduction
KA7906TU is a three terminal adjustable positive linear voltage regulator of 5A, 7A. It works on a wide input voltage range from 3V to 40V, and provides adjustable output voltage from 1.2V to 37V. This voltage regulator is built on monolithic integrated circuits and is compact and integrated. It is a powerful, low-cost solution for any line regulation or systems that require low dropout voltage, high accuracy, and low noise.Application Field of KA7906TU
KA7906TU is an adjustable linear voltage regulator. Its mainly used in the following places and applications:- Automobile electronic and electrical engineering: Onboard power, ECU power supply, sensor power supply and control power supply.

Working Principle of KA7906TU
The KA7906TU is divided into three components: power transistor, voltage reference and voltage regulator. The power transistor is used to conduct and draw the current from the input voltage source. The voltage reference targets to provide a stable reference voltage. This reference voltage is kept constant by the shutdown mode of the power transistor. The third component of KA7906TU is its voltage regulator. The voltage regulator is used to maintain the dc voltage of the system. It does this through the error amplifier, a voltage dropping element, a current limiting element, and a feedback path. The error amplifier monitors the output voltage and compares this voltage with the reference voltage at its input. If the output voltage deviates from the reference voltage, then the error amplifier instructs the power transistor to increase or reduce the current drawn from the source. This in turn will adjust the output voltage of the regulator. This is how the voltage regulator maintains the dc voltage of the system. The voltage dropping element of KA7906TU is the output capacitor. This capacitor is used to smooth out the ripple and noise in the output voltage. The capacitor also helps the power transistor in delivering stable regulated output voltage. The current limiting element is usually incorporates between the output capacitor and power transistor. It provides the limit so that the current drawn from the input voltage source does not exceed the rated output current of KA7906TU.Conclusion
