The KSZ9021RN is an integrated physical layer transceiver with an enhanced auto-negotiation algorithm. It includes an integrated Twisted-Pair physical layer interface and an Auto-Negotiation state machine to achieve communication with 10/100/1000 Mbps data rates. The integrated transceiver is capable of full- and half-duplex operation. The KSZ9021RN utilizes a 126-pin mini-TSOP I package for a cost-effective solution for small-package-size applications. The mini-TSOP I package provides superior thermal properties which aid in better dissipation of generated heat.
The KSZ9021RN is suitable for use in a variety of applications, including both copper and optical networking; as well as in embedded communications such as switches and routers. This transceiver is designed for high-speed point-to-point connections, meeting the IEEE 802.3 standard. The integrated receive and transmit operations are optimized for superior performance in data transmission.
The primary application field of the KSZ9021RN is Ethernet transmission over copper media in 10/100/10 mbps Ethernet systems. The transceiver is able to support twisted-pair cabling with four pairs of shielded cables in the TPA+/TPA- differential pair. The KSZ9021RN is also able to transmit up to two weakly-coupled pairs of shielded cables in the TPA+/TPA- differential pair with a data rate up to 10Mbps.
