The KSZ9031RN is a three-in-one solution, featuring both a PHY (physical layer) and a MAC (media access control layer), providing interface, drivers, receivers, and transceivers for a variety of applications. The PHY layer is responsible for data transportation between two systems, while the MAC layer is responsible for the management of data packets, and the control of the sending and receiving of data.
