The L6229DTR is a monolithic high voltage, high current, dual full bridge designed to be used in driving medium or high power inductive loads, such as relays, solenoid valves, motors, etc. It is suitable to be used with microcontrollers, and it is also very easy to use. It has two power supply pins (V1, V2) that usually range between 8V and 40V, and two control pins (EN1, EN2) that allow the user to control the bridge power. This device belongs to the family of PMIC (Power Management Integrated Circuits) motor drivers controllers.

The L6229DTR is a supply voltage independent device, which means that it can be used in any voltage level up to 55V. The bridge stage has 57V of absolute maximum voltage range and it is protected by a thermal shutdown that is activated when the junction temperature reaches 160°C. The internally integrated protection circuits provide current limiting, thermal shutdown, and reverse supply polarity protection.

The control pins allow the user to set the H-bridge in four different conditions: off, forward, reverse, and high impedance.
