The L6390D is a Gate Driver optimized for DC/DC power conversion applications. It offers a unique combination of features for AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC power conversion including high current output voltage range, up to 2.6 V; maximum input pull-down current of 200 mA; low supply voltage of 2.6 V; high switching frequency; integrated transient suppression; and low quiescent current. The L6390D was designed to meet the most demanding requirements of applications such as DC/DC power converters, DC/AC controllers, and AC/DC inverters.

Applications

The L6390D is ideal for a wide variety of DC/DC and AC/DC conversion applications such as switched-capacitor converters, Buck Boost converters, and DC/AC inverters. The L6390D can be used to control switching regulators, DC/DC converters, and motor controllers, as well as multiple-output linear regulators and other complex power supplies. Functional Block Diagrams

The L6390D consists of two main functional blocks; a Gate Driver and an Output Stage. The Gate Driver block contains an input stage designed to provide a low impedance drive current to the power MOSFET gates. It also contains an output stage designed to minimize parasitic capacitance and provide fast switching rise and fall times. The Output Stage block contains a push-pull driver with built-in protection circuits to provide additional fault protection for the power MOSFETs.
