Aluminum electrolytic capacitors, like other capacitors, are designed to store energy in an electric field. The LAR2G121MELZ30 capacitor is a type of wet aluminum electrolytic capacitor. It uses a liquid electrolyte, organic solvent, and oil to create a sealed environmental chamber which serves as the dielectric. This dielectric construction is different from standard dry aluminum electrolytic capacitors, which use a solid dielectric.
