      The LF353D is a low-power dual operational amplifier used for signal processing in instrumentation, audio amplification and data acquisition systems. The LF353D is designed to operate over a wide range of current and temperature conditions. It features wide bandwidth, low noise and distortion, and high DC precision, making it an ideal amplifier for many applications.

      The LF353D is a dual BIFETTM (Bi-polar Field Effect Transistor) Operational Amplifier (OP-AMP). It consists of two amplifying stages, input and output stages, and supports a wide range of power supply voltages (3 V to 18 V). A single supply allows operation at +/- 0.3 V to 15 V and a dual supply allows operation at +/- 0.6 V to 30 V. The LF353D features high gain inputs, with a wide bandwidth of 9 MHz and very low input offset voltage, typically 2.5 mV. The output current can range from 4 mA to 36 mA and can drive external loads of up to 150Ω. The LF353D also has over-temperature protection circuits which turn off the amplifier when the temperature rises beyond the maximum operating temperature.

      The LF353D can be used for many purposes ranging from simple signal amplification and conditioning, to active analog-to-digital conversion, to using it as a buffer amplifier bridge. It can be used in medical instruments, audio systems, data acquisition systems, precision servo control systems, power amplifiers, and active filters. The LF353D can also be used in process control systems to buffer and amplify signals from transducers, such as resistance temperature detectors, strain gauges and thermocouples.

      The most common application for the LF353D is to provide a wide range of gains for a given signal. This is accomplished by connecting the amplifier between the input and the load. The gain of the amplifier is determined by the ratio of the load resistances compared to the output resistance. When the output resistance is larger than the load resistance, the gain is increased. When the output resistance is smaller than the load resistance, the gain is decreased. Additionally, the LF353D can be used to buffer signals to reduce or increase the source or load impedances and thus improve frequency response and phase accuracy.
