Introduction to Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

An Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitor ((AEC or Electrolytic Capacitor for short)) is an electronic component consisting of an electrolyte-filled tank separated by a separator, an anode made of aluminum foil and a cathode made of aluminum foil. It consists of two aluminium foils with an electrolytic paper between them. One of the foils is the anode and is made of a special material (such as aluminum) while the other foil is the cathode and is coated with a solid electrolyte. The anode foil is an electrical conductor while the cathode foil is an insulator.
