Working Principle

LS1J103MELC Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors use the dielectric oxidation film formed on the anode foil to store the charge. The applied voltage causes the anion in the electrolyte absorbed on the oxide film, which further increases the oxide thickness, thereby increasing the stored charge. When the applied voltage reduces, the electrons return to the anode, and the oxide film decreases, thus releasing the charge. This principle is known as the electrolytic capacitor principle.

The capacitance of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors increases with increasing AC voltage, while the capacitance of the capacitor decreases with decreasing AC voltage. The main difference between Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors and other capacitors is their large capacitance.
