In latching mode, when A is greater than B, Y1 will be High and Y2 will be Low; and when A is less than B, Y1 will be Low and Y2 will be High. The LM239DT also provides a level – shifting feature. This means that it is possible to compare two signals from two different power supply rails, by configuring the comparators to shift the higher supply voltage to the same level as the lower one.
