The LM25011AQ1MY/NOPB is a dc-dc switching regulator that is specifically designed to meet the requirements of the latest low-voltage and narrow voltage bus applications. The LM25011AQ1MY/NOPB offers a wide input supply range (from 4.5V to 28V), an adjustable output of 1.2V to 7V, and an 800kHz switching frequency, resulting in excellent transient response with high efficiency over the entire load range. With its low shutdown current (350nA typical), easy sequencing and sequencing capabilities, and easy synchronization, the LM25011AQ1MY/NOPB is ideally suited for use as a Power Management Interface for various low-voltage and narrow voltage bus applications.Application FieldThe LM25011AQ1MY/NOPB is an ideal choice of DC-DC synchronous converter for general power, automotive, industrial, communications, and portable applications that require high efficiency and improved performance. The device is well-suited for use in low-voltage and narrow voltage bus applications, such as Point-of-Load (PoL) regulators, VRM / IMVP-7 / 6-Plus, SERDES PLL or DDR termination, as well as advanced battery chargers and DC/DC converters.The LM25011AQ1MY/NOPB can also be used in low-power white LED lighting applications and LED displays, LED lighting dimming applications, multi-phase LED constant current drivers and high-power LED drivers, power supplies and AC power adapters, point-of-load supplies, laptop and cellular phone chargers, computing system power supplies, telecom base station power supplies and set top box power supplies.Working PrincipleThe LM25011AQ1MY/NOPB is a synchronous, step-down DC-DC converter that operates from an input supply voltage of 4.5V to 28V and produces an adjustable output voltage of 1.2V to 7V. The device includes a high-side and low-side power MOSFET switch and an integrated controller. The embedded controller provides hysteretic constant-frequency current mode control and offers excellent dynamic loop performance.In normal operation, the controller operates at a constant frequency and uses the pulse width modulation (PWM) technique to generate signals to control the power MOSFETs. The switching frequency is adjustable between 200 kHz and 800 kHz, depending on the application requirements. The built-in unequal duty cycle modulation ensures that the peak switch current is independent of the load and the input voltage, thereby increasing efficiency over the full load range.The regulator also features an overload protection function that prevents current overloads on the power MOSFETs. The device also provides integrated soft start capabilities for load-transient and component stress reduction as well as cycle-by-cycle current limiting.
