It is designed to provide fast transient responses using a current-mode architecture. It offers a wide range of dynamic loop responses, allowing users to optimize the circuit performance to match their application requirements.The LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB is compatible with a wide range of operating voltages, both input and output. It is capable of providing very low output ripple and is designed to provide superior EMI performance.The LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB incorporates protection features, such as overcurrent protection, thermal shutdown and adjustable overvoltage protection. It is capable of providing a wide range of output voltage levels with excellent line/load regulation. Working Principle
The LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB provides a current regulated output, by regulating the output current at a fixed level. This is achieved by sampling the output current with a dedicated current sense pin. The control circuit is able to control a wide range of output currents, within a wide range of input voltages and load conditions.The LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB uses a constant frequency current-mode control scheme. This approach provides fast load and line response and excellent transient response characteristics.The LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB also provides an adjustable overvoltage protection circuitry, which keeps the output voltage from exceeding a user-defined level. This feature protects both the load and the converter against any possible faulty conditions.Furthermore, the LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB provides thermal and overcurrent protection. The converter enters a protection mode if the junction temperature or output current exceeds the pre-defined levels. In this mode, the output voltage is forced to zero and the output will remain disabled until the temperature is reduced or the fault condition is removed. To enable a cost effective, highly efficient design, the LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB integrates a low-side power MOSFET with a PWM reverse current protection diode. This combination eliminates the need for an additional external synchronous MOSFET, resulting in reduced component count and improved efficiency, as well as improved reliability. Finally, the LM25118Q1MHE/NOPB includes various features to allow simpler design and better performance.
