As part of a family of synchronous switching regulators, the LM2576T-3.3/NOPB integrates power semiconductor components, support components, and other control circuitry into a single package. This enables the construction of high efficiency step-down (buck) DC-to-DC voltage regulators with a minimum of external components. As part of the LM257x voltage regulator family, the LM2576T-3.3/NOPB is classified as a PMIC or power management integrated circuit, as well as a voltage regulator and DC-to-DC switching regulator.

The LM2576T-3.3/NOPB is designed to accept an input voltage range of 4.5 to 40 volts, while remaining safe across the full rated voltage range. It also features adjustable switching frequencies from 50 kHz to 500 kHz, allowing for high frequency operation to reduce solution size and cost. Furthermore, the voltage regulator includes thermal shutdown protection to protect against device damage, and electrical and mechanical overloading protection.

The LM2576T-3.3/NOPB\'s operations is based off of a pulse-width modulated, constant on-time control. This type of control provides cycle-by-cycle current limit and reduces unnecessary switching losses.
