The LM25061PMMX-1/NOPB includes a wide range of safety and power regulating capabilities, including On/Off control, Good/Bad indication, and voltage and current monitoring. This Hot Swap Controller protects the inserted device from transient overvoltages and excessive current in the power supply line. The input voltage is monitored, and if a safe voltage level is exceeded, the OVLO protection circuit is activated. When overvoltage is detected, the MOSFET is disabled and the UVLO circuit set the external FET gate to shutdown state. This prevents any inrush current to the system, potentially damaging the protection circuit. When the input voltage comes below the UVLO threshold, the external MOSFET will be directly connected to the main voltage input. In this condition, the system will be ready to deliver regulated power to the load.</p><p>In addition, the LM25061PMMX-1/NOPB also includes an input current monitor circuit which is used to detect a sudden current trough the MOSFET. If a current exceeding a preset limit is detected, the input current monitor circuit will shut down the output voltage by disconnecting the power supply, protecting the system against overcurrent conditions. The LM25061PMMX-1/NOPB has a wide range of protection and diagnostic capabilities, such as overvoltage and undershoot, as well as under temperature. Other features include a fault indication, an adjustable level of current limit, and short circuit and over temperature protection.</p><p>The LM25061PMMX-1/NOPB is a highly integrated controller designed to ensure the correct operation of hot-swappable components.
