The LM2585 series is a high efficiency, monolithic, step-down switching regulator designed for use as a replacement for linear regulators. The series of devices use a voltage mode fixed frequency pulse width modulation control scheme to provide high accuracy output voltage regulation, low noise and low power dissipation. The devices can achieve high efficiency at relatively low output current levels due to their high switching frequencies. The LM2585 series has multiple protection circuits such as over temperature protection, overvoltage protection, short circuit protection and open loop protection, which protects the chip throughout the application process.
The LM2585S-ADJ adjustable range is 1.207V to 37V and is ideal for applications that require an adjustable output voltage of 1.2V to 36V. Its AOI output current is adjustable from 5 mA to 500mA. Its adjustable range is only 1.5% over line voltage, load voltage, and temperature conditions. Its internal compensation allows accurate regulation under dynamic load conditions.
The LM2585S-ADJ features an efficiency of up to 96% and a low operating temperature of -40°C to +125°C. It is designed to work with a 10V to 36V input voltage range and has a maximum output current of 500mA. Its output voltage accuracy is ±2% and the switching frequency is 260KHz with a maximum duty cycle of 95%.
When LM2585S-ADJ is working, the voltage of the input source is transformed by the transformer. The diode transfers the current to the storage capacitor, and then the voltage goes through the switch T1 to form a voltage waveform. The waveform passes through the inductor and enters the switch T2. Finally, the current is output through the output capacitor. T1 and T2 are the main components that control the output voltage, and their output waveforms are always related to the loading state and the voltage of the input power supply. When different loads occur, the waveforms of these two switches will also change correspondingly, which will further affect the amplitude and waveforms of the output voltage.
