LM2653-ADJEVAL

The LM2653-ADJEVAL evaluation board is designed to evaluate the performance of the LM2653 dual-channel buck regulator. It can be used to set dual output voltage levels from 1.8V to 5.0V within a typical range of up to 4A. As an Evaluation Board, it enables designers to quickly develop and test their applications with the LM2653. It is also suitable for use in AC/DC and DC/DC power supply designs.

The DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS evaluation board works by using constant-current, voltage-mode control to track the input voltage, allowing for output voltage level setting with an adjustable resistor. The LM2653-ADJEVAL board includes an on-board oscilloscope probe, which allows for fast assessment of the output ripple voltage along with output voltage accuracy and transient response rate. Additionally, an on-board current meter indicates current across the device with the help of an input current sense resistor. The board also includes standard 3-pin PWM, current setting, ground, and voltage setting test points useful for development of multiple design scenarios.

The board is easily powered with a split supply input voltage ranging from 5V to 25V and it also utilizes a battery simulator connection for testing batteries and standby applications. Also included on the board is a DIP switch Mode Select which is used to switch between the two normal operating modes. Another DIP switch can be used to select current limit setting of 5A or 4A individually or 8A combined.

In addition, the board contains several groups of jumpers that can be used to modify the operating parameters, allowing for a wide range of testing and evaluation scenarios. The LM2653-ADJEVAL board includes several safety features such as an on-board shut down signal, thermal protection, over-current protection, and overtemperature protection among others.
