The LM2671M-5.0/NOPB is a DC DC switching regulator. It is a synchronous buck regulator that integrates a high-speed power MOSFET, negative output voltage feedback, and an oscillator. The regulator features an optimally designed transconductance error amplifier, allowing it to achieve accurate output voltage regulation with a maximum peak-to-peak output voltage ripple of 2.5 mV. The regulator is capable of delivering up to 500 mA of output current with an external sense resistor. The regulator offers excellent transient response and faster load loop response compared to linear regulators, making it ideal for applications that require fast and accurate load current regulation such as battery operated power management.The LM2671M-5.0/NOPB can be used in a variety of applications, from charging battery-powered devices to powering displays and LEDs. It is also well suited for powering FPGAs, microcontrollers, and digital systems which require a constant DC supply. The regulator also provides short-circuit protection, thermal overload protection, and over-voltage protection for added safety when operating under high voltage conditions.The power stage of the LM2671M-5.0/NOPB consists of a high-speed power MOSFET switch and a synchronous rectifier. The MOSFET switch is driven by the on-board oscillator. The oscillator has an adjustable frequency which can be set between 250 KHz and 2.2 MHz providing a wide range of operation. The oscillator is implemented with a low RDS(on) current sense MOSFET and an on-board EEPROM which contains all the settings required for robust operation.The input voltage range of the LM2671M-5.0/NOPB is from 1.65 V to 5.5 V, making it suitable for powering from low voltage supplies such as those provided by Li-ion batteries. The output voltage can be adjusted between 0.6 V and the input voltage, for a maximum efficiency of over 95%. The device provides a power good output and a soft-start feature which eliminates in/out voltage spikes.The LM2671M-5.0/NOPB is a highly efficient and feature-rich DC DC switching regulator with a wide input and output voltage range.
