The Texas Instruments LM2675LD-ADJ is a monolithic, step-down DC-DC switching regulator with adjustable output voltage. It features high efficiency, low noise, small size and low cost. The LM2675LD-ADJ is ideal for powering low power applications such as circuit boards, microprocessors, FPGAs and various other industrial, automotive, and communications applications.
Application Field
The LM2675LD-ADJ is suitable for automotive and industrial applications that require a high efficiency, low noise, and cost-effective step-down DC-DC switching regulator. The output voltage can be adjusted using a voltage divider or an external reference voltage. The device is available in a thermally-enhanced, 10-pin MSOP package with exposed heat-sinking pad for improved thermal control. The LM2675LD-ADJ is ideal for powering a variety of low power applications such as circuit boards, microprocessors, FPGAs and various other industrial, automotive, and communications applications.

Working Principle
The LM2675LD-ADJ is a monolithic, step-down DC-DC switching regulator that uses an N-Channel MOSFET (p-channel MOSFET for version B5) and a current-mode control architecture. The device operates from a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 36V and has an adjustable output voltage from 0.6V to 36V. It is also capable of delivering up to 1A load current and has a maximum operating junction temperature of 165°C. The device can switch at frequencies up to 2MHz, resulting in a small PCB size.
The device has a decreasing on-time switching waveform, where the current source is turned on for a period of time determined by a combination of an external resistor (Rsense) and an internal sense full threshold voltage (Vref). The waveform is generated from an oscillator with a fixed frequency. As the output voltage decreases, the oscillator rate increases until the minimum on time is triggered to regulate the output voltage. The voltage regulator is enabled/disabled by a logic-level signal on the EN pin.
The LM2675LD-ADJ also features over-current protection (OCP) which is activated by an internal voltage sense comparator that monitors the current sense voltage (Vcsense) to sense over-load current. When the sensed current reaches the OCP limit, the device will shut down and latch off.
The device also features over-voltage protection (OVP) which is activated by an internal voltage sense comparator. When the voltage at the OVP pin exceeds the limit set by an external resistor and capacitor divider, the device will shut down and latch off.
The LM2675LD-ADJ also features under-voltage lockout (UVLO) which is activated when the voltage at the EN pin is lower than the limit set by an external resistor and capacitor divider. When triggered, the device will shut down and latch off.
For additional protection, the LM2675LD-ADJ features overtemperature protection (OTP) which is activated when the junction temperature exceeds the device’s absolute maximum. When triggered, the device will shut down and latch off until the junction temperature returns to the normal range.
