The LM2853MH-1.5 is a transformable non-synchronous DC DC switching regulator, designed and developed by the Texas Instruments Corporation. It is designed to have superior efficiency, power and long lifetime capability. The LM2853MH-1.5 switching regulator can be used as a step-up, step-down, or inverting converter. Working Principle
The LM2853MH-1.5 uses pulse width modulation (PWM) to achieve efficient DC-to-DC conversion. In the PWM switching mode, the PWM controller provides the appropriate duty cycles of the switching devices in order to produce an output voltage that is proportional to the input voltage. The duty cycle is an important factor when regulating the step-up, step-down, or inverting converter. The pulse width of the output is directly proportional to the input voltage, so when the input voltage rises, the pulse width will rise accordingly.
The pulse width modulation is coupled with control loops to balance the load with the power supply. Both power devices are used to drive the PWM control loop, where the PWM circuit\'s output will maintain the voltage stability during fast changes in load and input. The PWM controller turns on the power device, inducing current to flow through the inductor, converting it into high voltage. Then, the other power device is turned off, resulting in the voltage being clamped at a certain level. This “regenerative action” allows the self-regulation of the output voltage.
