LM3633EVM Working Principle
The LM3633EVM is based on the LM3633 high power LED driver IC. The LM3633 can be used to drive high power LEDs up to 6A per channel, and the evaluation board supports up to 3 channels. The board incorporates a synchronous Buck DC/DC converter topology, which allows the designers to programmable circuit parameters easily using external resistors, as well as setting current limits, voltage levels, and frequency to achieve optimal performance. The board also includes a user interface circuit consisting of pushbutton switches and a trimpot. With the user interface, the designer can easily control the brightness of the LEDs, manage current level, and test various features of the regulator. An as well as set of programming signals allow the user to tailor the designer to adjust over current, over voltage and over temperature protection, as well as dimming frequency.
The board also contains an on-board current sense resistors, which allow the regulator to monitor current levels within the LED circuit, ensuring that it is within the accepted range.
