LM4545VHX is a power amplifier (PA) integrated special CODEC used to amplify and transmit audio signals to a loud speaker. It is used for PA modules in most applications, particularly PA modules for Apple products such as iPad and iPhone.This CODEC is a fully integrated device with a low power headset driver, a high power PA, on-chip Class D amplifier, and a PA monitor circuit. It enables efficient audio routing from headset input to high-power output. It uses a five-bit adaptive correction scheme to balance the load of the PA, which optimize the output power according to the speaker impedance.The LM4545VHX integrates a high fidelity headset driver with a Class D amp with a high power of up to 1W per channel. This enables the user to route audio signals directly from an audio digital interface (ADI) to a loud speaker, such as an earphone, without going through a headphone amplifier stage. Additionally, it supports both digital and analog inputs, making it ideal for PA applications that require both digital and analog signal inputs.The power amplifiers of the LM4545VHX are fully independent, with each one able to drive up to 1W per channel. This makes it ideal for applications that require multiple power amplifiers as well as for applications that require multiple channels of sound. In addition, it has an integrated control logic allowing it to be programmed with a wider range of signal configurations.The LM4545VHX also integrates a feedback control circuit that provides protection against excessive current consumption. Additionally, an on-chip temperature sensor is used to monitor the temperature of the device over the course of operation. The device is designed to operate in applications with temperature environments ranging from -20°C to +100°C.In terms of its operating principle, the LM4545VHX is based on a dual-channel class-D amplifier with a switching voltage output. This type of amplifier provides a high efficiency when compared to class-A and class-B amplifiers. It is also able to provide a linear voltage output, making it well suited for long signal chains, such as in PA applications.The LM4545VHX is most commonly used in PA modules for Apple products, such as iPhone and iPad. However, its applications are not limited to Apple products and it is also used in a wide range of other audio and PA applications. Its features such as the 5-bit adaptive loading, independent power amplifier channels and temperature monitoring make it a perfect choice for any application that requires high-fidelity sound and efficient power amplifier performance.
