The LM5574QMT/NOPB is a type of DC-DC switching regulator, a type of power management integrated circuit (PMIC).This regulator is composed of a switching power management controller and an External MOSFET, and is used for converting, regulating, controlling and/or protecting power sources, such as AC/DC or DC/DC adapters, voltage regulators and lighting controllers.This LM5574QMT/NOPB is a 1A step-down switching regulator that combines a synchronous power switch with a Controller IC, providing excellent load and line regulation in one package. Its high efficiency and low external components count make it an ideal for point-of-load power solution for a wide variety of applications. It also provides a wide voltage range and competitive transient response, and is available in the small DFN2210-6 package, making it suitable for space constraint applications.This LM5574QMT/NOPB has a wide input voltage range from 4.75V to 17V, and a tightly regulated output voltage from 0.6V to 17V. It also contains current limiting, over/under voltage protection, thermal shutdown and clock rate limit circuits to protect the system from damage due to overload, excessive current, excessive voltage or extreme temperature.The LM5574QMT/NOPB employs a current-mode control architecture. The internal Synchronous MOSFET switch enables low-loss, high-efficiency switching operation, while the integrated Controller IC ensures the stability of the device.Its two-pin enable control is used to turn the regulator ON/OFF. When the enable is OFF, the regulator is disabled, drawing very low current of only 850nA. This enable signal can be connected to either manual ON/OFF switches or to external logic.The LM5574QMT/NOPB has a fast response time with a max over-current protection of 1000mA, and an adjustable soft-start that prevents excessive inrush current during startup. It also has a programmable current-limit characteristic, allowing the user to adjust the current limiting of the output. The device also contains a differential remote voltage sense line for an improved load regulation.The LM5574QMT/NOPB contains an internal MOSFET driver, providing fast switching of the MOSFET with lower switching losses. It also provides programmable frequency from 100kHz to 1MHz, allowing designers to optimize the efficiency by selecting the proper switching frequency for the application. Moreover, The device provides power good indicator with programmable delay time. It pulls high when the output voltage falls below its set point. It also features internal compensation, allowing the user to optimize the transient response of the system.For external MOSFET selection, the LM5574QMT/NOPB requires a low-resistance MOSFET that can handle the high load currents.In summary, the LM5574QMT/NOPB is a 1A highly efficient step-down switching regulator with integrated synchronous switch and Controller IC. It offers wide input voltage range from 4.75V to 17V with tightly regulated output voltage from 0.6V to 17V.
