The LM62CIM3/NOPB is a temperature sensor that provides both analog and digital outputs. It has the ability to record both instantaneous and peak temperature readings and provides a high degree of accuracy and linearity for complex thermal measurements. The LM62CIM3 is suitable for a wide variety of temperature measurement applications, including medical diagnostics, automotive, and industrial applications.
The LM62CIM3/NOPB temperature sensor employs a contactless measurement system that uses the change in a coil\'s resistance with temperature as the basis for the measurement. Compensating electronics make up the remainder of the sensing element which provides a linear temperature output over the specified temperature range. This makes the LM62CIM3 ideal for use in applications where accurate temperature readings are required over extended temperature ranges.
The sensor contains an on-chip voltage regulator and amplifiers that convert the varying resistance of the coil into a voltage output. This voltage output is then converted to digital form, using an analog to digital converter. All the computations of the data are done in the microprocessor by software and the temperature measurement is displayed. An integrated program memory is also included for application specific parameters.
The LM62CIM3/NOPB has a built in temperature range of –50°C to +100°C, with an accuracy of ±0.5°C. The analog output is a differential voltage signal with a range of 20mV/°C. The sensor can also be configured to provide a direct digital output over the I²C interface, simplifying the connection of peripheral components. In addition, the LM62CIM3 has built-in over-temperature detection circuitry with an adjustable threshold.
The LM62CIM3 is a versatile device, designed for a variety of applications.
