The LM82CIMQ/NOPB is a digital output temperature sensor that allows precise and accurate reading of temperatures in various industrial applications. The LM82CIMQ/NOPB is a stainless steel enclosed ceramic infrared sensor designed for industrial high temperature measurement soluions. The LM82CIMQ/NOPB is a non-contact type temperature sensor which features low cost, low power operation, and requires no calibration. It is cooled to the environment temperature range thus ensuring accurate readings.
It uses a dual-band infrared sensor that emits a pair of infrared beams in the visible spectrum. The sensor simultaneously receives and records the infrared radiation of two different wavelengths. By comparing the ratio of infrared radiation of the two different bands, the absolute temperatures in the medium between the sensor and the object to be measured can be accurately determined. The LM82CIMQ/NOPB is a highly accurate temperature sensor that can reach accuracy levels of up to +0.5°C. The sensing element of the sensor is a thermistor that is very sensitive to temperature changes.
The LM82CIMQ/NOPB temperature sensor has a few different output types which can be used depending on the application. It has an analog output or a digital output where the output is available in a variety of resolutions. There is also an SPI output option which provides a two wire serial interface and 16bits of resolution. Additionally it has a PWM output which features 16bits of resolution and is able to operate up to 10kHz with a power line noise immunity.

It has low power requirement of only 1.1mA while taking a measurement and can operate over a wide voltage range of 3.3v to 24v. The LM82CIMQ/NOPB is IP67 rated and designed for harsh industrial environment with temperature, vibration and shock resistance.
