The LMC7225IM5/NOPB is a single channel, precision voltage comparator designed to operate from 2.1V to 5.5V. This comparator has a wide range of applications. Its low power operation allows its use in many battery powered systems. It is designed to be used in single supply applications with the ability to detect proportional differences between the inputs.
The LMC7225IM5/NOPB is based on a differential-input, differential-output, complementary bipolar junction transistor (CBPJT) circuit. This circuit enables the application of logic level signals to the comparator inputs, and the circuit\'s ability to respond fast to small voltage differences. The input differential voltage is regulated by an input amplifier and the output of the circuit is fed through a low gain amplifier and output pin.

Working Principle
The operation of the comparator is simple. The inputs of the comparator are connected to two voltage sources, Vin1 and Vin2. When Vin1 is greater than Vin2, the output of the comparator is a logic high of +Vin1. When Vin2 is greater than Vin1, the output of the comparator is a logic low of –Vin1. This circuit is designed to have low power consumption and can be used in single supply applications and detect proportional differences between the inputs.
The LMC7225IM5/NOPB comparator can also be connected to a voltage reference to compare the input voltage to the reference voltage. The offset nulling feature of the comparator can be used to adjust the output to zero if the input is not within the specified reference voltage range.
