Application Field and Working Principle of LMK04002BISQE/NOPB
The LMK04002BISQE/NOPB is a low-power integrated clock generator and PLL frequency synthesizer from Texas Instruments. It is part of the Clock/Timing family and is used to generate clocks with very precise frequency and phase characteristics. Its wide range of output frequencies makes it suitable for a wide range of applications such as communications, instrumentation, and industrial applications.The LMK04002BISQE/NOPB contains two oscillators and two PLLs. It offers four externally programmable output frequencies. All four of the available outputs can be used together to provide a clock signal of any required frequency with excellent accuracy. The oscillators can be set to frequencies between 1 kHz and 80 MHz. The output frequencies can be generated from 2 kHz up to 2.5 GHz.The LMK04002BISQE/NOPB uses an on-chip Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) and its associated logic to generate clocks. This approach provides very low power consumption and excellent jitter performance. The internal VCO can be set to output frequencies ranging from 500 kHz to 4.5 GHz.The two PLLs in the LMK04002BISQE/NOPB are designed to lock their outputs to the selected frequency and maintain its accuracy. The first PLL is designed to lock a reference input, while the second PLL is designed to lock the resulting signal output from the first PLL. This provides excellent stability and accuracy.The LMK04002BISQE/NOPB also features a multi-loop architecture with proprietary digital linearize filters that greatly reduce loop errors to further improve stability and accuracy. This is especially useful for switching applications where synchronization between different clock signals is required.The LMK04002BISQE/NOPB also provides a number of advanced features such as programmable output driver strength, precision output timing, and calibratable clock output delay.
