The LMK01801BISQE/NOPB is a general purpose 1.8 V CMOS clock buffer designed to provide increased flexibility over traditional clock drivers by offering two low jitter clocks and two differential outputs on a single device. This device comes with a high performance buffer, compatible with traditional high-speed logic families and providing up to 2.5V of differential peak-to-peak output drive. The LMK01801BISQE/NOPB has a wide range of applications including, but not limited to, clocking of servers, switches, routers, baseband processor subsystems, and other high-speed logic devices. The LMK01801BISQE/NOPB is based on a low jitter, low power PLL clock synthesizer that consists of an integrated high performance voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and output dividers. This device can generate clock outputs with a wide range of frequencies based on the input reference clock, from 40 MHz up to 250 MHz. The reference clock can be any common frequency type, such as 27 MHz, 50 MHz, 75 MHz, 100 MHz, or other similar frequencies. The LMK01801BISQE/NOPB has two low jitter clocks paired up with two differential outputs. The two PLLs operate with reference clock feed-forward and independent output-clocking of the two sets of clocks. This allows for uninterrupted access to both sets of low jitter clocks without any compromise on the jitter or signal integrity of the buffer. The differential outputs on the LMK01801BISQE/NOPB can be used to interface with a wide variety of devices and provide the necessary power to drive high speed signals. The integrated output buffer has up to 2.5V of differential peak-to-peak output drive that can handle up to 500MHz of data rates as well as up to 2.5V common-mode voltage range, making it suitable for high-speed applications. It also includes programmable transition times to avoid unintentionally false-clock triggering and undesired signal propagation delays between the two output sets. The output enable pins on the LMK01801BISQE/NOPB enable the device to be powered selectively according to the desired clock operation.
