The LMK04101SQE/NOPB consists of an ultra-low phase noise dual-Output n x n Synthesizer PLL pair integrated with an ultra-low noise voltage controlled oscillator (VCO). This integrated device combines the clean clock generation capabilities of the monolithic frequency synthesizers with the ultra-low phase noise of the VCO to provide a very low-noise, jitter-reduced solution for applications that require both a high-frequency output and synchronization at lower frequencies.The device is a dual-output phase-locked loop that can generate multiple clocks in the same range. It enables high-frequency synchronization with a low-noise, low-jitter clock source. The two quadrant outputs can be either phase-locked to an input reference clock or can generate a 2x, 3x or 4x frequency or clock division output with very low jitter.The architecture of the LMK04101SQE/NOPB is a dual-output dual-phase-locked loop with one loop locked to the input reference frequency, and the other locked to the low-noise VCO. The VCO provides a highly stable, low-noise clock source for synchronization. The VCO can be set to a frequency from 2MHz to 25MHz with a typical frequency error of 0.5%. The VCO\'s frequency can then be multiplied to frequencies as high as 100MHz using the phase-locked loop.The dual-phase-locked loop (DPLL) circuitry provides close frequency-to-phase tracking of the VCO frequency-to-phase conversion. The DPLL also acts as a frequency synthesizer, providing multiple frequencies within a given frequency range. This allows the device to be tuned to a wide range of operating frequencies. Additionally, the DPLL circuitry provides excellent phase-noise characteristics and low output jitter, making the device an excellent choice for a variety of applications.The device\'s power consumption is low with typical quiescent current of 150µA and total device current at 2.8mA. It features active droop compensation to minimize power consumption and provide enhanced frequency stability. The device also features programmable output slew rate as well as a power down control pin, providing the ability to reduce current draw when the device is not in use.The LMK04101SQE/NOPB is ideal for timing applications such as spread spectrum frequency synthesis, communication systems, clock and data recovery, automated test equipment, and base station and wireline systems. It is a versatile, reliable, and power-efficient solution for a wide range of clock and timing needs.
