The LMZ23608EVAL/NOPB is an evaluation board designed for high-efficiency isolated DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS applications. It can enable designers to rapidly evaluate and optimize the performance of the LMZ23608 buck driver IC in a wide range of applications.The LMZ23608EVAL/NOPB consists of two sides: a circuit board with a buck driver IC and two onboard power supplies for the high voltage side\'s main switch, and a circuit from the PCB for the control loop circuitry. The buck driver IC controls its main switch, providing smooth, silent, and accurate performance over a wide input voltage range. Additionally, it features programmable overcurrent protection (OCP) and over-temperature protection (OTP) to protect the system from faulty conditions. The buck driver IC also offers a wide range of selectable analog and digital outputs for controlling and monitoring external circuitry.The LMZ23608EVAL/NOPB uses a full bridge configuration, with the low voltage side (ground) supplying the voltage and current for the control loop instead of the high voltage side. This configuration offers improved efficiency, higher switching frequency, and a broader range of operating conditions. Additionally, the board includes an onboard microcontroller for testing the performance of the buck driver IC, as well as for calibrating the power supply.When it comes to operation, the LMZ23608EVAL/NOPB is designed for power supply, controller, or motor applications. The board is optimized for synchronous buck converter applications, but can also be used for other applications such as COT, LLC, and push-pull topologies. The maximum output power is 500W, and the operating frequency range is between 20kHz to 400kHz.When powering the LMZ23608EVAL/NOPB, the board requires a separate 48V/50A power supply that is not included in the package. The board also includes a status LED and a 10-position rotary switch for specifying the buck input voltage, output power, and current limit.
