The LT3971EDD-3.3#TRPBF DC-DC switching regulator works through impulse voltage reduction. The main circuit consists of two parts: the power conversion circuit and the control circuit. The power conversion circuit is composed of a switching element, transformers, current detection circuit, inductor, capacitor, rectifier and voltage stabilizing circuit, while the control circuit is composed of control logic, timer, feedback control circuit and dual gate MOSFET.When the input voltage is higher than the preset output voltage, switches are opened and closed by the control signals. The alternating voltage generated by the switches passes through the transformer, and then the rectifier circuit rectifies the alternating voltage into a DC voltage. The voltage is then stabilized by the voltage stabilizing circuit and output.The operation of the power circuit relies on the control circuit. The feedback control loop regulation is achieved by the Hall-effect current sensing and voltage sensing. The Hall-effect sensor provides a current sense signal which is compared to the output of the error amplifier, and the error amplifier output will control the pulse-width modulation (PWM) circuit to adjust the duty cycle. By adjusting the PWM duty cycle accordingly, so that the desired output voltage is maintained.The PWM enable line provided by the input voltage enable, enable/power-down input, enable/soft-start output, enable/overvoltage lockout and output short protection provides the power to start and stops the PWM.
