The LT3999EMSE#TRPBF is a monolithic synchronous voltage-mode DC-DC power converter. This small, low-quiescent current, high-performance switch-mode regulator promises to revolutionize electronic power management. It combines a 700mA switch with Voltage-mode, current-mode and dropout control, all packaged in a thermally enhanced 3-pin SOT-223 package.This integrated DC-DC switching regulator employs Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) control to respond quickly to changes in the load currents and voltage. It also features a wide range of operating frequency and a maximum output current of 3A. It is able to withstand a wide input voltage range, and is ideal for a wide range of applications such as portable battery powered equipment, smart card readers, digital cameras and cellular phone supplement power.The LT3999EMSE#TRPBF switching regulator’s circuit consists of internal high-voltage ON-OFF control, true current limit, and internal voltage sensing with an enable pin. The control circuitry operates as a closed loop system to maintain a specific voltage level at the output, independent of the load. It has two main components: a P-channel MOSFET switch, and a controller. The P-channel MOSFET switch provides regulation for both the power supply and the output load. It is capable of maintaining a constant output voltage with an input voltage range of 2V up to 24V. It has an adjustable frequency option and provides a peak current limit of 3A, making it perfect for applications that require high levels of power management. The maximum switching frequency of the LT3999EMSE#TRPBF is 40MHz, offering better performance and higher efficiency when compared to existing products in the market.
