Introduction
The LTC4006EGN-2#PBF is a low input voltage Li-Ion/Polymer battery charger capable of operating from a 2.7V to 6V input, and is designed to charge 4-cell and single-cell Li-Ion/Polymer batteries. The LTC4006EGN-2#PBF has very low quiescent current and high efficiency to minimize power dissipation and achieve long battery life when charging from low input sources. Working Principle

The LTC4006EGN-2#PBF takes a very low quiescent current (400µA) from the input source and is capable of delivering up to 1A of charge current to the battery. This device includes an Overvoltage Protection (OVP) circuit to protect the battery from inadvertent overcharging, as well as an internal thermal regulation loop to simplify system design and reduce the total power dissipation of the system.
