The M95160-RMC6TG is an electrically erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM or E2PROM) that provides bit-level programming capability without the need for a special programmer. The device comes in 2K-bits, 4K-bits, 8K-bits and 16K-bits of electrically erasable memory. It is capable of storing 2K bytes, 4K bytes, 8K bytes and 16K bytes of data.

The primary application of M95160-RMC6TG is the secure storage of information, such as product codes, serial numbers, and software licenses. The M95160-RMC6TG device works at its most basic level by using a single transistor latch structure with a single CLK (clock) and 2 in/out lines (DQ and /DQ). The CLK is used to perform a series of write, erase and read operations on the device. When the CLK is high, the transistor is on, allowing for a write operation to occur, and when the CLK is low, the transistor is off, allowing for a read operation to occur. The /DQ line is also used to indicate if the write is successful.

The device is programmed with a three-byte cycle: write enable, the address to be programmed, and the data to be written. This is then repeated for each address to be programmed. The device can also be erased using a single-byte cycle. This is done by setting the write enable bit high, setting the address to be erased, and then setting the erase enable bit high. The programming and erasing cycles take place when the CLK is low.
