A thyristor is a solid state semiconductor electronics device with four layers of alternating N and P-type material. On the first meeting of three layers, when the applied gate voltage exceeds the gate trigger voltage, the thyristor can be switched from the off state to the on state, and then conduct an electric current. Thyristors are mainly used in power electronic devices and other switching applications, and they are used in a variety of motor control, DC-to-AC power conversion, and AC power control applications. The MAC4DLM-1G thyristor is used for AC power control applications.

MAC4DLM-1G Application Field and Working Principle

The MAC4DLM-1G thyristor is widely used in AC power control applications such as motor speed drives, motor soft-start feedback control, and machine tools. As one of the most widely used high electric power thyristors, it is suitable for uses in switching power supplies, lighting control, electric equipment, capacitor banks, and harmonic suppression applications. By controlling the positive gate voltage applied to the gate part of the thyristor, it can be switched from off state to the on state, and then turn off the electric current. The MAC4DLM-1G features a higher trigger current than other thyristors, and a wider device firing angle range that increases their efficiency and accuracy.
