MAP6KE47A is a unidirectional, low capacitance and low power dissipation Transient Voltage Suppressor (TVS) Diode. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment and systems from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning. It is suited for use in high speed data line protection and is rated to absorb repetitive minimum energy levels of 400 Watts. Because of its small size and low capacitance, MAP6KE47A is suitable for high-speed data line protection. It has a working voltage range of 6.8 to 170 volts and a clamping voltage of 11 volts at 8.0 amperes maximum peak current.MAP6KE47A works by clamping transient voltages and diverting damaging currents away from sensitive circuits. When subjected to an unwanted voltage, MAP6KE47A starts to conduct current when the voltage exceeds its threshold voltage, thereby providing a low impedance path and bypassing the unwanted current.
