MAX15012DASA+ is a monolithic, high-current gate-driver IC used for driving power MOSFETs and IGBTs for high-power synchronous buck applications. It incorporates numerous features that are essential to satisfy the performance and size requirements of today’s high-current power conversion in automotive, medical, industrial, and consumer applications. The MAX15012DASA+ is ideal when used in combination with the latest 300V and 400V ICs, such as buck controllers, integrated PFC controllers, and LLC resonant controllers.

Application field of MAX15012DASA+

The MAX15012DASA+ features a plateau voltage drive scheme for superior noise immunity and low EMI, and it improves efficiency with a 0.5Ω integrated low RDS(ON) output MOSFET. Working Principle of MAX15012DASA+

The MAX15012DASA+ is capable of driving both an NMOS low-side FET and an N-Channel high-side FET, or an NMOS low-side FET and a PMOS high-side FET. The device is operated using a logic control signal. When the logic control signal (Logic_E) is low, the low-side FET is turned on and the high-side FET is turned off. When the logic is high, the low-side FET is off and the high-side FET is on. This allows the user to configure the device to operate in either buck mode or boost mode, depending on the application requirements.

The MAX15012DASA+ output stage is based on a plateau voltage drive scheme, which consists of two NMOS output transistors connected in a complementary manner, with a bootstrap diode in between.
