The MAX16036 is a micro-power supervisor device from Maxim Integrated, with high precision and accuracy for monitoring voltages from 2.6 V to 5.5 V. It integrates wide temperature operating range in a low profile Pb-free lead (PLB) package. This supervisor provides a single reset output when the power-supply voltage drops below its adjustable threshold voltage. The reset output is asserted when Vcc (input voltage) falls below Vth (threshold voltage), and de-asserted when Vcc rises above Vth. This product is available in two packages - the SOT-23-6 package and the PLB-8 package.

Working Principle of the MAX16036PLB29+ supervisor:

When power is applied to the MAX16036PLB29+,upon Vcc rising, the RESET output is de-asserted. As Vcc varies within the trip limit, Vth is constantly compared to Vcc. When Vcc falls below Vth, the RESET output is asserted low; it remains low untilVcc rises above Vth. If Vcc continues to rise, Vth is compared to Vcc. If Vcc falls below Vth again, the RESEToutput is asserted. The MAX16036PLB29+ operates with an input voltage range of 2.6V to 5.5V and an adjustable reset threshold voltage range of 2V to 4.5V. The reset circuit is designed to be robust in the presence of power up, power down and power-supply brownout conditions. The reset circuit has an adjustable delay before resetting to filter fast transients.

To reset the MAX16036PLB29+, you must either remove power from the circuit or else apply simultaneous transitions to both the RESET input and RESET to V CC.
