Adding such components often simplifies designs greatly, by allowing designers to eliminate multiple protection and regulation circuits, further saving time and space. The MAX16037ACB+T is a System PMIC that provides single-supply voltage supervision, power-good status, a VIN power FET, and overvoltage protection. Working Principle
The MAX16037ACB+T is an integrated circuit designed to provide tight, accurate power supervision with the fewest external components for space-constrained designs. In the presence of a valid input voltage, the train (bias) voltage and the supervisor output will be active (low) and the voltage comparator output is disabled. When the input voltage falls below the factory-trimmed lower threshold, the output will go low, initiating a reset and/or powerdown if a single-channel supervisor is used.
The MAX16037ACB+T also includes an integrated power MOSFET to provide power control. When the battery voltage is within the supervisor operating range, the MOSFET is enabled, thus allowing the input voltage to be controlled. When the input voltage falls below the voltage supervisor threshold, the power MOSFET is turned off and the battery will be disconnected from the system.
