RF receivers are electronic circuits that receive RF signals from antennas or other sources and convert them into useful signals. The MAX2390ETI+ is a highly integrated direct-conversion RF receiver for wideband applications. MAX2390ETI+ Working Principle
The MAX2390ETI+ direct-conversion RF receiver uses three separate channels in its receive path. These are an externally tuned dual-band bandpass filter, an automatic gain control (AGC) preamplifier, and a mixer/linearizer. The dual-band bandpass filter assists with image rejection, while the AGC preamplifier automatically adjusts the signal level. The last stage is the mixer and linearizer, which converts the received signal to an intermediate frequency (IF).
The IF signal is then amplified and filtered by two stages of linear-in-dB variable gain amplifiers (VGAs). The programmable gain range, DC offset control, and linear IF bandwidth make the MAX2390ETI+ a flexible solution for a variety of applications. Finally, the IF signal is detected and down-converted to the baseband signal, which can then be processed by the digital baseband.
