MAX3077EESA+T Application Field and Working PrincipleMAX3077EESA+T is a low power, high speed universal interface for small form factor communication applications involving Ethernet, CompactPCI, Serial ATA and other high-speed data transport protocols. It consists of two separate integrated circuits (ICs), MAX3077EESA+T transmit and receive. The ICs provide lane-to-lane communication up to 50 MegaBytes per second (MB/s) per pair, as well as multi-lane communication up to 200MB/s in each direction.MAX3077EESA+T is designed to be used in applications where space and low power consumption is at a premium, such as high-speed protocols requiring 3.2, 5 and 6.4 Gbps data rates. The MAX3077EESA+T provides industry standard lane-to-lane communication links with linear & sinusoidal filtering within each lane, making it suitable for use in high-throughput data transport protocols.The MAX3077EESA+T also provides an optional programmable power-saving feature that allows a transceiver to enter a low power state when not transferring data, thus freeing up more power for other tasks. This feature could significantly reduce overall system power consumption.The MAX3077EESA+T is suitable for a variety of applications requiring Ethernet, Serial ATA and CompactPCI communication, including consumer electronics, telecom and networking equipment, industrial control, and medical systems.The MAX3077EESA+T device works by taking in the data from one device, encoding it, and transferring it to the receiver. The transceiver part of the MAX3077EESA+T pairs two lanes: a transmitter and a receiver, allowing them to communicate at rates up to 50MB/s per lane. The device also features a programmable power-saving mode, which will suspend the data transfer whenever the conditions are met.The separate receive and transmit channels of the MAX3077EESA+T allow the device to support multi-lane communication up to 200MB/s in each direction. The capability to communicate between two communication spaced up to 2 meters apart makes it suitable to be used in data streaming applications.In addition to being suitable for universal interface applications, the MAX3077EESA+T also supports enhanced error correction, which reduces cable signal losses, signal integrity issues and packet errors. The device also supports dynamic power management, making it possible to reduce power consumption when not transferring data, thus helping to extend battery life in portable applications.MAX3077EESA+T is a high speed universal interface, suitable for a variety of data transport protocols.
