MAX3084CPA+ is a CMOS voltage shift transceiver from Maxim Integrated. It provides a fully integrated solution for converting between two different logic families in a very low power solution. This transceiver is a great choice for applications where multiple data rates and/or multiple voltages are required.The MAX3084CPA+ is a family of 8-bit transceivers designed for low voltage operation. It features a proprietary CMOS design that allows very low power dissipation, a high level of performance in terms of rise and fall times, extremely low static current consumption, and wide temperature range. The transceiver also boasts an on-chip voltage regulator and separate input and output logic levels that are all fully configurable via jumper pins and external resistors.This transceiver can be used for either single-directional or bi-directional communication. Single-directional communication means that the MAX3084CPA+ is only used for signal transmission and does not receive any data. Bidirectional communication is when the transceiver is used for both data transmission and reception. The MAX3084CPA+ transceiver can be used to interface between two different logic families with different voltage levels, and also between two logic families with different data rates. The MAX3084CPA+ is also highly configurable, with the option of configuring the logic levels, thresholds, and timing parameters. In addition, it has a built-in push-pull output buffer, allowing the user to toggle the output level by providing a control signal. The inputs can be configured as active-high or active-low, allowing it to work with both positive logic and negative logic logic families.The MAX3084CPA+ can be used in a variety of applications, including communication between microcontrollers, FPGAs, ASICs, analog and mixed-signal circuits, and other mixed signal applications.
