MAX3087EESA+T is an integrated transceiver, developed by Maxim Integrated and available in a TDFN-8 package. It is a half-duplex transceiver with one additional line driver and two receivers in a single chip. With very low power consumption and ultra-small package size, this transceiver can meet most of the portable product requirements.

This transceiver is primarily used in automotive, medical, and industrial applications, where data integrity and reliability are paramount. It offers up to 9kV ESD protection on all pins to minimize electrostatic discharge issues that occur in applications subjected to high ESD voltages. It also has an internal power-on reset circuit that ensures proper power-on sequence and reliable system operation.

Working Principle: MAX3087EESA+T transceiver works using a single-ended data interface. This interface allows the transmission and reception of data at up to 500 kbps speeds. It works by connecting the source and destination devices together through four lines: two lines for data transmission and two lines for data reception. Data is transmitted between the source and destination devices via two lines, while two corresponding pins, receive the incoming data and send back the acknowledgement. The transceiver then compares the two signals, and fully confirms the data correctness when the signals match.

In order to ensure the data integrity, the device has built-in ESD protection and noise immunity. This protection circuit enables the transceiver to detect and protect itself from any stray voltages. The power-on reset feature provided by the device ensures proper power-on sequence and reliable system operation.
