MAX3089ESD+ is a configurable, bidirectional, unidirectional and cascadable, 3-volt to 5.5-volt, low-current, low-level logic transceiver. It is primarily used to provide communications interfaces between circuits at different voltage levels and to allow low voltage control of multiple open drains. This makes the device generally suitable for many electronic applications including load switches, level shifting, level translation, battery-powered systems, communication interfaces, power converters, and other voltage- or current-sensitive applications.

The MAX3089ESD+ consists of reset/configuration, bidirectional data, and control logic and buffer functions. The output buffer is composed of an n-channel and p-channel-control transistor and an open-drain driver stage.
