The second mode of operation is high capacitance mode. This mode is active when an overvoltage is present. The device is able to limit the output capacitance to 8pF at full operating voltage from a 1.2kV surge, making it highly reliable in applications that require protection against transient events. The device also offers a high series resistance of 1.3Ω, which ensures sufficient current handling capability.
The MAX3206EEWL+T is protected against ESD with an SO8 package, which offers excellent ESD protection up to ±20kV contact discharge. In addition, the device is protected against surges up to 1.2kV, which makes it suitable for a wide range of application areas.
The MAX3206EEWL+T comes with an 8-pin TSSOP package and an 8 Lead Leadframe (LLMXewll package), both offering high levels of thermal dissipation and heat resistance. The device has a typical turn-on time of 500ps, making it ideal for high-speed serial data lines and power lines. It is protected against ESD with an SO8 package and has a low-capacitance mode and high-capacitance mode.
