MAX3221EAE-T Application Field and Working PrincipleThe MAX3221EAE-T is a low-power, high-speed, multi-channel RS-232/RS-485 transceiver ideal for cost-sensitive embedded system applications. It integrates multiple I/O transceivers for simple, reliable, and low-cost data communications over standard bus architectures (e.g., UART, RS-232, etc.). It also features up to four channels of data protection on both the transmit and receive signals, making it suitable for industrial and medical applications.FeaturesThe MAX3221EAE-T offers a number of features that make it an ideal choice for embedded system applications. It supports four channels of data communication, including up to four full-duplex differential or two half-duplex non-differential data channels. The transmitter and receiver together support baud rates up to 3 Mbps, noise margin up to 45 V and propagation delay as low as 500ns. The integrated protection channels provide overvoltage, ESD and transient protection on both the transmit and receive lines, enabling reliable connection in harsh industrial environments.
