The MAX3222EIPWR is an ultra-low power RS-232 line transceiver from Texas Instruments. The transceiver is designed for use in applications requiring a compact board space, highly integrated circuitry and low power consumption. It is suitable for automotive systems, medical instrumentation, industrial controllers and other low power systems.
The MAX3222EIPWR is a single channel RS-232 line transceiver, which reduces loading on transmission lines by terminating them with an adjustable resistance. The low power RS-232 line transceiver has an input supply voltage of 2.25V to 5.5V and a typical quiescent supply current of 10uA. It features an on-chip charge pump that converts the single supply voltage to the required positive and negative supply voltages (±5V).
The transceiver provides very low EMI (electromagnetic interference) noise which is crucial in modern data communication applications. The device can drive rates up to 250 Kb/s and provides good noise immunity. It also offers very good thermal stability and a full 15 KV ESD protection on both transmitter and receiver pins.

It offers good signal integrity with an OLED output of 2V to 24V, an open collector drive of 3V to 24V and TTL/CMOS compatible output.
