MAX3226ECAE is an RS-232 transceiver chip, a type of Interface - Drivers, Receivers, Transceivers designed by Maxim Integrated. The device is designed to improve signal integrity of low–voltage communication nowadays, with the use of advance signal processing in the chip. Working Principle of MAX3226ECAE

The MAX3226ECAE Transceiver has differential difference amplifier to yield improved performance over the standard converter by providing better common–mode rejection and larger amplitude swing. It is configured to provide a high level of performance in RS–232 applications. The MAX3226ECAE operates from a 3V to 5V supply, and benefits from an internally generated voltage that exceeds the supply voltage, allowing the device to support a 12V signal level. It provided differential receive and transmit capability by sensing the receive/transmit control inputs. Differential receive and transmit outputs are provided to satisfy the need for a device with a low–cost, efficient manner, helping reduce EMI. The Max3226ECAE transceiver also has a feature that can detect the power supply condition and switch the I/O state to a Hi-Z (high impedance) status when the supply voltage is lower or higher than specified voltage.
