The MAX3241ECAI+ is an extended temperature, high-speed (up to 500ksps), three-channel, level-shifting RS-232 transceiver designed using Maxim Integrated\'s advanced CMOS technology. The MAX3241ECAI+ offers improved power efficiency and a wide operating temperature range. It also has a high ESD tolerance (8kV contact discharges) that allows it to be used in harsh environments.

The MAX3241ECAI+ is a highly-integrated, low-power transceiver that can be used in many applications requiring the transfer of data over a wide range of temperature and voltage ranges. The device operates from single +5V DC supply and provides three independent channels that level shift between CMOS logic and RS-232 protocols. In addition, the device features individual logic 0/1 input/output enables which allows the user to control which of the three channels are enabled.

The device has a quiescent stop current of 1mA (default) and a quiescent start current of 4mA. A built-in, low-power sleep mode reduces the supply current consumption to 7µA.
