The MAX3244EAI is an integrated multi-transceiver/driver/receiver device that contains a low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) transceiver that runs to 622 Mbps, and two receivers and two drivers running to 250 Mbps. Its integrated receiver/drivers and low-voltage differential signal transceivers (LVDS) make it ideal for data communications between FPGAs and ASICs, as their use can eliminate the need for isolated amplifiers and terminating resistors. It is also ideal for connecting systems to communications standards that use Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Serial ATA, and Gigabit Serial links.
The MAX3244EAI is designed to drive up to eight logic loads and receive up to six differential signals from an LVDS source.Its low−power CMOS design is well-suited for high-speed LVDS applications in the commercial and industrial temperature range.
Working Principle
The MAX3244EAI contains an integrated low voltage differential signal (LVDS) transceiver, two receivers and two drivers.The transceiver handles data communications between FPGAs and ASICs, while the two receivers and two drivers allow the device to be used for data communications between systems with different communications standards such as Ethernet, Fibre Channel, Serial ATA, and Gigabit Serial
The MAX3244EAI operates using a switched capacitor charge pump, which generates an adjustable internal voltage supply made from an externally supplied voltage. The voltage is regulated to VCC which then supplies internal circuits and signals. The power consumption is under 1 μA and the normal mode power consumption is only 77 mA for the LVDS transceiver and the drivers.
